Google Exhibit
Project
Google commissioned Make Associates to create an interactive exhibit for its marketing team, centred on a large digital dial that needed to feel precise, durable and dependable in public use. My contribution focused on the electronics that made that physical interaction possible.
Role
I developed the control electronics and firmware for the dial, making sure the mechanism read cleanly, felt responsive and could withstand repeated use in an event setting. The emphasis was on robustness: reliable sensing, tidy integration and hardware that could be trusted once installed.
Technology
The system used a Raspberry Pi Pico, MicroPython and a rotary encoder, with the electronics packaged to support a clean installation and dependable real-world performance.
